Philip and Gail Ross
Philip and Gail moved to the inner-city Atlanta in 2000 to work with "at-risk" children and single mothers. They purchased property located across from Ben Carson Middle School in the Grove Park Community, now home to Bright Futures Atlanta and the Ross's.
Most of their time and talent is focused on establishing and developing relationships with students attending Ben Carson Middle School. Using Christian-based love, mentoring, programs, and activities, they are making an obvious difference in the lives of the participants and the community.

Rachel Smith
Rachel developed an interest in BFATL in 2008 when the kids became regular visitors of her church, Atlanta Westside Presbyterian. After visiting the program and meeting with the Ross' about their current needs, Rachel decided to join the BFATL team full time. Rachel left her job as a social worker and joined us for the 2008 Summer program. Rachel is helping restructure the after school program for the 2008-2009 school year, as BFATL desires to narrow its focus to better preparing our youth for the immediate future, meaning life after high school. With Rachel's history in social work, she is also focusing on developing opportunities for more involvement with the families of the youth we serve. Rachel is a graduate of the University of Florida and now lives in West Atlanta, just a few miles away from BFATL.
